“The drive to be part of the core team, to have my name etched into the very foundation of Lloyds Technology Centre, has been my motivation.”
I've been navigating the corporate sea for about 12 years now. My journey began in the coastal city of Vishakhapatnam, where I earned my MBA in HR and Marketing. I started my career in HR, ventured into streams like Resource Management, HR Operations and HR Systems, went on to become a certified SuccessFactors consultant & also found myself project managing the phased implementation of SuccessFactors for the EMEA region across eight countries for a fortune 500 company.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr.Vipul, our current HR head, in the past. There, he recognized my potential and helped me transition into HR business partner role. This enabled me to become a well-rounded HR professional, from startups to established corporates, I've navigated through various domains, always willing to drive in and build from the ground up.
“The drive to be part of the core team, to have my name etched into the very foundation of Lloyds Technology Centre, has been my motivation.”
I remember reading an article back in mid-2023 about Lloyds Banking Group setting up a technology centre in India. My diverse experience across HR functions seemed to align perfectly with the organization, and I was excited about the opportunity to be part of the organization from its inception stages in India.
After joining here, I found myself diving into unexplored realms like recruitment, payroll and compliance, in addition to People Partnering. Being involved in conducting interviews, organizing multicity recruitment drives, anchored compliance audits, designed and developed policies/ benefit programs for colleagues. It was this “all-hands-on-deck” approach that truly defined our early days at Lloyds Technology Centre.
“I believe in sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact, whether it's on people, culture, or the Organization's trajectory.”
In our dynamic workplace, I have been fortunate to experience a level of empowerment that has truly transformed my approach to work. The leaders here have entrusted me with the autonomy to take ownership and deliver on various fronts – whether it’s designing policies, optimizing benefits, or spearheading projects. This trust has encouraged me to innovate, take initiative, and ensure that all our efforts are aligned with the core values of our organization.
A significant influence on my professional growth has been Dr. Vipul’s unique leadership style. Instead of merely presenting problems, I have learned to approach him with well-thought-out solutions and options. This proactive mindset has not only enhanced my problem-solving skills but also fostered a culture of continuous improvement within our team.
I deeply appreciate the support and confidence the leadership has shown in me, and I am committed to leveraging this empowerment to drive positive change and achieve our collective goals.
“The level of autonomy has been both liberating and demanding, pushing me to become more proactive and solution focused.”
My personal life is as rich and varied as my professional one. Born and raised in Visakhapatnam, I harboured the dream of joining the armed forces, a passion that still influences my work ethic and team spirit. Growing up - I was steeped in military discipline and values – enrolled myself into cadet programs like National Cadet Corps and Sea Cadet Corps and earned an opportunity to represent the state of Andhra Pradesh in All India Vayu Sainik Camp – A national level competition between the cadet units across India.
Art has been a constant companion for me, evolving from pencil sketches and charcoal to watercolours and now, digital art. I love my machines (a bike and a car) which I dearly call them my "mental health investments” and my weekend companions for both short jaunts and long rides around the city.
Having said that - Home is where my heart is, and my family is my greatest source of joy and support
At Lloyds Technology Centre, I've come to deeply respect the bank's risk-averse nature. As we scale up, we're compelled to balance speed and efficiency with our meticulous attention to detail. We're in the midst of a growth spurt, aiming to scale up to 2,400 colleagues, and in just past one year, we've brought 1,900 people into the system.
For us, 'people first' is not just a value; it's a practice that we embed in everything we do—from our Car Lease Program, Corporate National Pension Scheme, child-care programs, and even our group medical coverage, which is among the best in the market. We're proud to offer unique benefits like OPD coverage without hospitalization, reflecting our commitment to our colleagues' well-being.
We've come a long way, from a team of less than 5 colleagues to a bustling P&P department of around 30, all working in sync to build Lloyds Technology Centre from the ground up. My goal is to cultivate an environment where trust is the foundation and teamwork is the norm. I can't help but draw parallels between my dream of joining the armed forces and my current role.
“The military ethos of working in a pack, the unwavering commitment to the team, and the strategic leadership—these are the qualities I admire and emulate.“
The idea that a leader knows when to step aside for another to lead, and that no member is left behind, resonates with me. My focus isn't on the position I hold or the opportunities the company offers; it's on ensuring that my contributions have a lasting impact.
